First-Time Homebuyer Grant Program

Eligible first-time homebuyers can receive a $1,000 grant to assist with down payment or closing costs on a home purchase in Philadelphia.
Funds never need to be repaid

Program
Eligibility
To qualify, all of the following conditions must be met:
Must be a first-time homebuyer, as defined by HUD.
One grant per household only.
Completion of a homebuyer counseling program through one of the following approved organizations:
Provide the following two weeks before closing:
Agreement of Sale
Loan Estimate
Settlement Notice
Wiring Instructions
Property must be a single-family home or duplex.
Household income must be below 150% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
The property must be located within an eligible ZIP code (see below).

Required Documents:
Agreement of Sale (signed purchase contract)
Loan Estimate (from the lender)
Settlement Notice (from the title company)
Wiring Instructions (for grant disbursement)
All documents should be submitted through the established process no later than two weeks prior to closing in order to receive the grant funding.

Transaction cancelled
Contract terminated
Funds were not applied or exceeded
